DirtIQ holds your costs, your production rates and your bids — the numbers you least want in a competitor's hands. This page says plainly what we store, who can see it, and what we will never do with it.
DirtIQ is built by a working sitework contractor. Hurley's Earthworx is a separate company with its own workspace, the same as yours. Nobody at Hurley's Earthworx can see your costs, bids or jobs, and we will never use your numbers to prepare a bid against you.
What we store
- Your account: name, email address, company name, and your role.
- What you enter: labor rates, equipment costs, materials, crews, assemblies, bids, takeoffs, projects, tasks and job costs.
- Files you upload: plan sets, supplier quotes, invoices and your company logo.
- Feedback you send through the Feedback button, along with the page you were on.
- Error reports when something breaks: the error message, the page, and your browser type. Not the contents of your bids.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party script following you around the app. The only cookies DirtIQ sets are the ones that keep you signed in.
Who can see it
Other companies never can.Every row of data carries the company it belongs to, and the database itself refuses to return one company's rows to another company's session. That rule is enforced by the database, not by screens that could be worked around.
Inside your company, the people you invite see what their role allows: owners manage everything, estimators work on the library, bids and projects, and viewers can read but not change. You control who is invited and can remove them at any time.
We can, in two limited ways. Feedback you send and error reports are read by DirtIQ staff — that is their purpose. And as the people who run the service, we have direct access to the database when we need it to keep DirtIQ working or to help you with a problem you have raised. We do not browse customer data otherwise.
The assistant and plan reading
Some features send data to Anthropic, which provides the AI model behind them:
- Dirt Assistant sends the page you are asking about — the bid, the cost library items, the project — so it can answer.
- Importing from plans, supplier quotes or invoices sends that document so the figures can be read out of it.
It is sent to produce your answer and returned to you. Anthropic states that data sent through its API is not used to train its models. If you would rather nothing leave DirtIQ at all, simply don't use those features — everything else in the app works without them.
Who else handles your data
- Supabase — the database, file storage and sign-in.
- Vercel — hosting for the application.
- Anthropic — the AI features described above.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Keeping it and deleting it
You can delete anything you have entered from inside the app. To delete your whole workspace, email andrew@hurleysearthworx.com from your account address and we will remove it within 30 days. Backups roll off on their own schedule after that. Ask us for a copy of your data at any time and we will send it.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are handled by Supabase's authentication service and never stored by us in readable form, and the company-by-company separation above is enforced in the database. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.
While DirtIQ is in beta
DirtIQ is early software being tested with a small number of contractors. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We are not going to lose your data on purpose, but beta software deserves a backup.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will tell account owners by email rather than quietly editing it.
